In this life, one of the biggest benefits of following Christ is the sense of purpose we can have.  That clear purpose of following Christ and leading others to do the same will bring with it some consequences, as we can see from today’s passage in Luke.

Living on purpose with God…

…will give us direction from the very beginning of our faith journey.

…will sometimes rise above our highest priorities, such as family or personal safety.

…will sometimes cause frustration and anxiety to those friends or family closest to us.

…will change the things we love, even the things about which we are passionate.

…means we are always a student, always learning, always growing.
