Core Listening Guide

I.  Consider it Joy, and Ask for Help

Experiencing temptation is not the end of the world, but how we deal with it shows an incredible amount about our faith walk. How do you recognize trials in your life? What do you do/have you done to stop or prevent them from moving towards sin? If you fail, what is your next step? Is there any type of preventative maintenance you can perform?

II.  Listen Up

James urges us to clear our lives of the clutter that has kept us from achieving the peace for which we long. Listen, pray, speak; how has this formula made a difference to you?

III.  Get Up and Grow

The joy of this letter is that the Word has been provided to us all. We can take it in and gie it a home in our hearts. We can then be empowered to act rightly when temptation comes again. How have you seen the Word strengthen your resolve in times of trial?

Venture Listening Guide

I.  ”It’s Good for You”

Being refined on God’s anvil is a painful but necessary process if we are to grow to be more like him.  In the midst of painful circumstances, we are especially susceptible to losing our bearings; that is when we should be asking freely for wisdom.

II.  The Truth About God

We are easily deceived about God.  Our enemy takes every opportunity to distract us from God’s unconditional, never-ending love.

III.  Being Doers of the Word

We, the American church, continue to produce some of the best Bible teachers the world has ever known.  Sadly, we also have developed a reputation for knowing the Word but not following it.
