The Transformational Power of Confession

Psalm 51; 1 John 1:9

The objective of confession is agreement with God. Until that happens, I have not really confessed anything.

Seeing our sin in relation to God means looking beyond our own physical consequences and seeing its impact on God’s name in our life.

Confession to God always includes an element of acknowledging our own powerlessness to change on our own. We need a Savior.

Confessing (and being forgiven) turns us outward, to in turn be an instrument of forgiveness and change in someone else’s life.

Singing praises and giving offerings are all pretty meaningless to God until we come to Him with a broken and contrite heart.
